I really get quite annoyed when I spend a significant amount of time and energy revamping a site and then someone thinks they can just copy the idea and, even worse, try to charge businesses on the island a stupid amount of money to use a site which isn't even as good.
It came to my attention today that a company has launched "the only interactive maps of the island" - erm, sorry boys but I think you'll find that Lanzarote Maps was first and is still faster, sleeker, and more user friendly than your effort. Also, with respect, charging clients to use your service is fine if you are being honest about what you're charging for but I think Google might have something to say about you pretending that YOU developed the actual Google Maps you are using!
This sort of thing REALLY gets on my nerves and so I've decided that with immediate effect Lanzarote Maps is now free for all businesses on the island who want to put a marker on the Google maps we use. So we are not charging you over €100 a year or even our original charge of €50 - it's now free, gratis, zip, zero.
There are too many rip off merchants hitting the island at the moment and too many businesses who are maybe a little naive and believe what they are told. My message to the people attempting to con customers is simple: we make no charge for Lanzarote Maps and your €100 a year business model has just been thrashed.
