Don't you hate it when you download an update for your iPod Touch and it thrashes your music collection resulting in a factory restore? It's usually a minor inconvenience but yesterday I realised that when I upgraded to Windows 7 I didn't back up my iTunes Library. I usually back it up to my backup folder on the web server but I removed that during the recent cleanup - after all, I had a copy on my machine and I could always use SharePod to put it all back after Windows 7 was installed. End result - cleaned out iPod and no backups.
Initially, Apple's support site stated I would need to buy all my music again so I rang Apple US in a bit of a huff (which turned out to be un-necessary). They tool my serial number and reset my account so that as I type all of my music (apart from one track) is downloading into iTunes.
Needless to say, I will be making a couple of backups onto DVD's and my server and my backup hard disk later tonight. "I'm a PC" but big hugs and thanks to Apple for providing such superb customer service. Absolutely faultless (apart from the fact their software wrecked my iPod in the first place!).
